Synopsis:  Plains Sucker were only described as distinct from Mountain Sucker (Pantosteus platyrhynchus) in 2014. They are a glacial-relict species and are endemic to the northern Great Plains region. Our follow-up study corroborated their predicted climate vulnerability, finding declines of over 30% in the last two decades.
