Lake Chub
Synopsis: Lake Chub are a glacial-relict species in our region, meaning their distribution is a direct result of Ice Age glaciation. Many glacial-relicts are highly vulnerable to climate change, and Lake Chub are no exception. They are predicted to lose over half of their current distribution in our study area to climate change, and this was corroborated by our follow-up study that found they've already declined by over 30%.
The species prefers cool, relatively clear streams with lots of pool habitat.
