Synopsis: Creek Chub are widespread across the central U.S. and tolerate a wide-variety of conditions. In our study area, they inhabit slightly colder waters, so the presence-based method we used to estimate their upper thermal limit may provide an overly pessimistic outlook. Climate vulnerability assessments for Creek Chub in other parts of the country predict a mix of increasing and decreases populations. As such, we do not know if our predicted loss estimate is accurate. Our follow up study showed that Creek Chub occupancy across the region is currently stable.
