Synopsis: The Columbia Slimy Sculpin (only recently determined to be separate from Slimy Sculpin C. cognatus) is extremely vulnerable to climate change and large losses have already been documented. The species has a low thermal tolerance, similar to Bull Trout. But, unlike Bull Trout, Columbia Slimy Sculpin are often unable to move upstream to cooler waters because their small size and lack of swim bladder makes them unable to get over even small barriers.
